Heart and Soul
Each of the pieces in the Tent series grapples with the question, “If we could see the soul in the body, what would it look like?” In Tent 2, I chose to highlight the heart, the symbolic home of human emotion. I used ink, watercolor, and charcoal for the top layer of the original painting, then cut several windows in the painting and added a layer of blue watercolor and pastel underneath.
